Our Supporters Challenges

There can be no more fitting way of supporting 353… the Military and more specifically Parachute Regiment charities we support, than putting yourself through extreme challenges of fitness …

So …Huge well done to John Skelton who completed the ‘Lanzarote Ironman 2015′ on May 23rd. The Ironman consists of a 2.4 mile swim, 112 mile cycle ride followed by a 26.2 mile run. A grand total of 140.6 miles in hot and windy Lanzarote, and no San Miguel! John has supported 353… repeatedly and keeps putting himself through the pain of running, cycling and swimming events and then the combination of those disciplines in these Iron man events .

Route for Mont Blanc Challenge

Huge congratulations to Tom Mason for completing the enormous challenge that is ‘The Mont Blanc Marathon’ and raising an incredible £2,590.73 –  his recollections of the event read………….

“Well it went like this…I eventually finished the Mont Blanc 80km race for 353 at 10.00a.m on the 27.6.15. At 3.15a.m in the morning after 23 hours I was 15 mins outside my final check point time and was instructed by a Dr to  rest, knowing I wasn’t going to achieve the 24 hour target  I decided to do I was told. I then walked the final 5km 4  hours later when day light arrived, I’m disappointed not to  have completed within the allocated time but I did finish  the course.”

Tom Mason

A remarkably honest assessment from Tom of the 24 hours but in no way should Tom be disappointed, we have huge respect for anyone who attempts anything outside their comfort zone and raises money for good causes! and this has got to be outside everyone else’s zone for sure … well done Tom and thank you for the amazing effort and funds raised.

Tom is going back to next years Mont Blanc 80 …. good luck Tom and our respect …
