August 2021, Kabul is in chaos following the decision of the allied forces to withdraw from Afghanistan. Pen Farthing, Ex Royal Marine Commando and founder of the Nowzad Animal Charity (a charity supported by 353.org) is told to abandon hundreds of animals and dozens of staff, many of them female, to the mercy of the Taliban, this is something Pen is not prepared to do. If this book was a work of fiction it would be a best seller, but incredibly it’s all true. Pen has written the book, Operation Ark and it tells the amazing story of how he and his team got hundreds of animals and dozens of staff to safety. Pen will be our guest on the 13th July for a book signing and photo event along with Ewok, one of the many dogs he managed to get to safety.
